International Symposium on Neglected Influenza Viruses

The 5th ISIRV International Symposium on Neglected Influenza Viruses explores the latest research on surveillance and disease investigation, virus transmission and control, clinical and experimental virology, plus emerging issues and new developments related to equine, canine, avian, marine mammal, additional wildlife and other non-human influenza viruses.

Edward T. Breathitt Undergraduate Lectureship in the Humanities

Josh Cola, a University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts senior, has been selected to give the 29th annual Edward T. Breathitt Undergraduate Lectureship in the Humanities. Cola’s lecture will explore Mark McCloud's departure from the blotter art movement of the 1990s. “A Hit of Nostalgia – Mark Mccloud’s Through the Looking Glass and Blotter Art in the 1990s” will be presented at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in the Davis Marksbury Building. Cola is an art history major from Aurora, Ohio.

2024 John P. Wyatt, M.D. Environment and Health Symposium

The John P. Wyatt, M.D. Environment & Health Symposium honors the legacy of Dr. John P. Wyatt and his pioneering environmental clinical research on air pollution and lung pathology. Universities and agencies from across the state have partnered to present research and practice on environment and its impacts on health with specific emphasis on Kentucky. Keynote speaker, Arthur Frank, MD, PhD will speak on Minerals, Plants, and Policy: Coal and Asbestos, Agriculture Work, and Policy Implications including Legal Activities.

49th Annual Naff Symposium

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Kentucky organizes an annual Symposium on Chemistry and Molecular Biology.  This Symposium was established in honor of Anna S. Naff, a University of Kentucky graduate, through the generous support of Dr. Benton Naff of NIH. The Symposium has an interdisciplinary character and is attended by students and faculty from Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine.
