Effective and Responsible Database Searching for Animal Research

Learn strategies for finding high-quality, relevant studies to minimize the use of animals and ensure adherence to ethical standards. In this workshop learn to employ comprehensive search techniques and validated filters to find (or not find) relevant literature. This is a great session for those submitting protocols to IACUC.

Infectious Disease Day 2025

We invite you to submit an abstract to present your microbiology and/or immunology research at the 2025 Infectious Disease Research Day to be held Thursday April 3rd in the Todd Building on the UK Campus. We have an exciting program of invited keynote speakers and featured UK faculty speakers planned. All graduate students, residents, fellows, postdocs, staff and faculty are welcome to submit an abstract for a poster presentation. Our generous sponsors ThermoFisher Scientific, VWR International Sino Biological and Stem Cell Technologies will be providing cash prizes for the best abstracts.

AppalTRUST Seminar: The Interface of Health Economics and Tobacco Regulatory Science

AppalTRUST is honored to host Dr. David Levy, who will deliver an insightful seminar on the Tobacco Regulatory Science Program. Dr. Levy is a professor of oncology in the School of Medicine, specializing in population health, and a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is a member of the Global Health Initiative faculty committee. He will present on the interface of health economics and tobacco regulatory science

This presentation will introduce users to open access drug resources from the FDA and National Library of Medicine that are trustworthy, effective, and free for everyone.
