What is the Flow Cytometry and Immune Monitoring Core Facility?

The University of Kentucky Flow Cytometry and Immune Monitoring Core Facility offers state-of-the-art flow cytometry cell analysis, high-speed sorting, and immune functional analysis to the research community at UK and has been in continuous operation since 1983.

The Flow Cytometry and Immune Monitoring Core facility (FCIM) is dedicated to support high-quality research requiring flow Cytometry techniques in basic and translational research. We support our users by providing access to cutting-edge equipment and technical and scientific expertise for comprehensive analysis of immune responses. We use standardized and optimized SOPs and Study protocols to obtain reproducible and quality results for our collaborating investigators in a cost-effective manner.

Our skilled staff at FCIM can help your research by:

  • Providing training and assistance in analytical flow cytometry.
  • Providing technical consultation and support with the experimental design, execution and flow cytometer data analysis.
  • Assisting users with high-speed cell sorting to obtain pure population for downstream studies.
  • Providing training and assistance in multi-analyte detection assays using multiplexing Luminex technology or Isoplexis technology.
  • Providing training and assistance in Metabolic assays using Seahorse XF technology.
  • Providing technical and scientific expertise in comprehensive analysis of immune responses in pre-clinical animal studies and translational human research.
  • Providing technical and scientific expertise in Immune biomarker discovery and analysis in blood and tissues.
  • Providing technical assistance in the human blood processing to isolate high-quality PBMCs and plasma/serum samples for downstream studies.
