Introduction to Cancer Somatic Mutation Analyses

Somatic mutations are a driving force for cancer development. The profiling of somatic mutations based on second-generation sequencing has provided an unprecedented opportunity to enhance the understanding of cancer biology and identify new drug targets. In this talk, I will provide a brief introduction to bioinformatics analyses of somatic mutation data, including the detection of somatic mutations, identification of significantly mutated genes, discovery of driver mutations, delineation of the temporal order of pathway mutations, and reconstruction of phylogenetic trees.

Poster Design Workshop

Summer Lunch & Learn Series: Poster Design Workshop     Create effective and engaging research posters! We will walk attendees through the poster-making process - emphasizing poster design principles, layouts/ formats, understanding your audience, and evaluating a poster.     Interactive workshop for all! Attendees will critique sample posters by applying the design principles discussed.     Poster design worksheet and handout included.

WEBINAR: Protecting Health in a Changing Climate

Dr. Caleb Dresser leads the Climate MD program at the Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, which works with frontline health clinics to prepare a climate-ready health care workforce. He is also the assistant director of the climate and human health fellowship for physicians, an emergency medicine physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and an instructor in emergency medicine at Harvard Medical School.
