Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) Workshop
The Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) Workshop, which will be hosted by the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kentucky from June 2nd to 6th, 2024.
The MIP Workshop is an annual research event highlighting the latest trends in integer programming and discrete optimization, which regularly draws over 100 participants from across the globe, providing an excellent opportunity for learning and networking. Topics included in the workshop range from theoretical contributions to recent developments in software and solvers to applications in industry. Although the workshop is centered around discrete optimization, participants bring in expertise from other areas including machine learning, robust optimization, stochastic optimization, etc.
While speakers are chosen by invitation, we extend a warm invitation to all interested individuals. In fact, the workshop emphasizes participation from young scholars including junior faculty members, postdocs, and graduate students. Towards this goal, the MIP Workshop organizes a graduate student poster competition in addition to keeping the registration fees minimal to foster engagement.
The 2024 edition of the workshop will be the twenty-first in the MIP series. The program can be found on the MIP2024 website here. We are proud to bring together 20 esteemed speakers represented from 6 countries, including both leading university researchers and industry experts, e.g., from Google, Boeing, and Cardinal Operations. This year's MIP workshop will also include a summer school on June 2. The topic of the summer school will be the use of cutting planes in integer programming algorithms.
Links to past editions can be found here. MIP2024 is supported by the Mixed Integer Programming Society (MIPS), which is a section of the Mathematical Optimization Society (MOS).
The MIP2024 organizing committee, the local organizing committee, and the Office of Inclusive Excellence at the University of Kentucky are committed to making the workshop a welcoming environment for all members of the MIP community.
