UK Sport and Exercise Psychology Student Selected for Role With New Journal
Travis Scheadler, a sport and exercise psychology master’s student in the University of Kentucky College of Education’s Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion, was selected as the first junior associate editor for the Journal for Advancing Sport Psychology Research. The journal is sponsored by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.
Scheadler is from Goshen, Ohio, and received his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2018 from Wilmington College. He is pursuing the research track of the sport and exercise psychology master’s program at UK and is interested in research focusing on sport for social justice and athlete activism.
“While pursuing my master’s, I am collaborating with the Center for Sport, Peace, and Society at the University of Tennessee to help develop my interests, passion, and knowledge in the field of Sport for Peace,” Scheadler said.
As junior associate editor of the Journal for Advancing Sport Psychology Research, Scheadler will review submissions from students and early-career professionals aspiring to develop their scholarship skills. The journal provides an opportunity for students and early-career professionals to participate as authors, reviewers and editorial board members within a mentored publishing infrastructure.
This is Schleadler’s second year of study at UK. He plans to pursue a doctoral degree following completion of his master’s program.
