For this "UK at the Half," we talk with Clare Rittschof, Ph.D., associate professor of entomology in the University of Kentucky  College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, about why she has an “open door” policy in her labs for students.

As a result of Rittschof’s work, she recently earned the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) prestigious Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award for her project titled “Signal to Noise: How Complex Social Information Regulates Brain Genomics and Behavior.”

You’ll also hear why this opportunity means to much to Abdallah Sher, a sophomore neuroscience and computer science major from Hazard, Kentucky, who was selected for the 2022 Commonwealth Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) Fellowship program

"UK at the Half" airs during halftime of each UK football and basketball game broadcast on radio and is hosted by UK Public Relations and Strategic Communications and Marketing and Brand Strategy. To hear the "UK at the Half" interview, click on the play button above.
