Study: Academic Promotion Should Reward Innovation and Entrepreneurship

A UK administrator is co-author of a study published in Science on Sept. 17 calling for university promotion and tenure processes to be broadened and made more inclusive of innovation, entrepreneurial activity and other diverse forms of scholarly impact.

Gary Ferland Named American Astronomical Society Fellow

Ferland was honored for his work in developing and applying “Cloudy,” a special computer code that studies how light from distant celestial bodies is produced. “This award is a great honor, and is as much to UK as to me,” Ferland said.

UK Economic Outlook Virtual Conference Set for Feb. 3
