Inherited Cancers in Children and Young Adults: Communities and Researchers Working Together
In Kentucky, roughly one in every ten young cancer patients has inherited a genetic reason to put them at an increased cancer risk.
These young patients, their families and their caregivers have physical, emotional and financial needs that differ from others whose lives are upended by a cancer diagnosis.
At the UK Markey Cancer Center, we understand many things about cancer, and we're learning more every day - from people just like you.
Join us as we discuss the scientific breakthroughs about inherited genes and their effect on cancers of children, adolescents and young adults; hear an overview of how inherited cancers affect our Commonwealth and learn from one another through stories of personal resilience, scientific opportunities and sheer strength of will.
