The Society of Postdoctoral Scholars (SOPS) at the University of Kentucky (UK) is hosting their Annual Research & Career Symposium to showcase the work of UK postdoctoral scholars and fellows, promote networking among the UK research community, and encourage discussions on career paths for postdocs and PhD students.

The symposium features: (1) a keynote address by Dr. Jennifer Doudna, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, Professor of Chemistry and Molecular & Cell Biology at the University of California Berkeley on The Future of CRISPR: What’s Ahead for Genome Editing, (2) a career planning workshop and a panel discussion on career options for trainees, and (3) several opportunities for postdocs to share their work including a Postdoc Poster Session, Postdoc Talk Competition, and Postdoc 3MT Competition (with cash prizes!)

The objective of the symposium is to give UK postdocs an opportunity to share their research, celebrate their successes, network with peers (including graduate students & faculty), develop professionally, and learn about possible career options. As such, graduate students & faculty are welcome and encouraged to attend! In fact, given how broad and diverse the audience will be, postdoc presentations will be general and accessible to a wide audience.
