Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs (FTRPs) Policy

As required by federal law, UK is issuing a new policy (effective Aug 9, 2024) concerning participation in foreign talent recruitment programs (FTRPs) per the CHIPS and Science Act.

Updated OSPA Staff Assignments

The Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA) has transitioned to its new organizational structure for proposal and award services that was recommended by Project GATeWAY. Research Administrators are now focused on providing pre-award or post-award support and services based on their constituency (college or other unit) assignment.

Grant Administration Forum for Investigators | Begins Sept 10

The Grant Administration Forum for Investigators (GAFI) is a new communication channel including the leadership of the Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA), Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) and Research Financial Services (RFS). The first GAFI session will be on September 10 at 1 p.m. and continue the second Tuesday of every other month. Investigators can submit questions and suggested topics to be covered by providing them in advance.

MOU for Departing Investigators

The Memorandum of Understanding between a Departing Investigator and UK has been revised and is available as a fillable pdf on the OSPA website at https://www.research.uky.edu/office-sponsored-projects-administration/award-administration (Faculty and Equipment Transfers).

NSF Safe and Inclusive Working Environments Policy and Plan

NSF requires development and distribution of a Safe and Inclusive Working Environment Plan for proposals that involve off-campus or off-site research activities. See the OSPA website (Proposals tab) for information on NSF’s policy and related UK requirements/processes.

NSF Revision

NSF implemented revised versions of the Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support formats for consistency with the Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG). The requirement to use the revised formats is effective for proposals submitted or due on or after January 30, 2023. These revised formats are now available in SciENcv and on the NSF Policy Office website.

Adjustments to NIH and AHRQ Grant Application Due Dates Announced

In response to Grants.gov’s planned system outage from 9/23/2022 to 9/29/2022, NIH and AHRQ due dates that fall on or between 9/22/2022 and 9/30/2022 will move to 10/3/2022. A list of the related program announcements is available in NIH Notice Number NOT-OD-22-190.

Grants.gov Migration and Outage Impacts Proposal Submissions 9/23/2022-9/29/2022

Grants.gov is migrating to the cloud and will be offline from Friday, September 23, 2022 through Thursday, September 29, 2022. No proposal submissions through Cayuse or directly to Grants.gov will be possible during the downtime.   Grants.gov is working with various agencies to adjust submission deadlines to minimize the disruption; however, investigators intending to submit an application to an opportunity with a deadline within this timeframe should submit the proposal early or request an extension of the deadline from the funding agency.  

New Other Support Portal for Sponsored Projects

A new online portal for disclosure of Other Support (as defined by the external sponsor of a sponsored project) is now available.  This portal is intended to gather information about the active and pending support for your research endeavors.
