All of the RAFA resources you found previously on our site still exist, but they may be located in a new space. Foreign Talent Recruitment Programs (FTRPs) Policy

As required by federal law, UK is issuing a new policy (effective Aug 9, 2024) concerning participation in foreign talent recruitment programs (FTRPs) per the CHIPS and Science Act.

Updated OSPA Staff Assignments

The Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA) has transitioned to its new organizational structure for proposal and award services that was recommended by Project GATeWAY. Research Administrators are now focused on providing pre-award or post-award support and services based on their constituency (college or other unit) assignment.

Lyman T. Johnson and University Research Postdoc Fellowships | Applications due Nov 6

The Office of the Vice President for Research postdoctoral programs, the Lyman T. Johnson and the University Research Fellowships provide stipend plus benefits and are available to eligible trainees from all disciplines who have a UK-mentored research and training plan.

Grant Administration Forum for Investigators | Begins Sept 10

The Grant Administration Forum for Investigators (GAFI) is a new communication channel including the leadership of the Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA), Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) and Research Financial Services (RFS). The first GAFI session will be on September 10 at 1 p.m. and continue the second Tuesday of every other month. Investigators can submit questions and suggested topics to be covered by providing them in advance.

UK ASCEND | Applications due Aug 23

UK ASCEND (Achieving Success in Community-Engaged research to elimiNate Disparities) is requesting applications from UK postdoctoral fellows/scholars to apply for pilot research funds to conduct Community-Engaged Research (CER) studies. The ASCEND Postdoctoral CER Pilot will provide pilot awards of up to $25,000 for 12 months.

ATRN 2024 Annual Health Summit | Registration Open

The Appalachian Translational Research Network (ATRN) is a collaborative of academic medical institutions, including the UK Center for Clinical and Translational Science, working to address the significant health challenges and disparities specific to Appalachia. The summit is Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, VA.
