2025 SPARK cohort named, students to focus on community health research

Now in its sixth year, the SPARK program trains undergraduate students from a broad range of backgrounds, experiences and communities to conduct impactful research to improve health disparities early in their college experience.

CCTS Offers New Mentor Training

The Center for Clinical and Translational Science now offers mentor training using the CIMER Entering Mentoring Curriculum. The program is for UK faculty with mentees in health or biomedical fields, and it meets the requirements for serving as a mentor on an NIH-funded training grant. This interactive, in-person training is offered four times a year at no cost.  More information here.

CCTS Spring Conference | abstracts due Feb. 5, mentor award nominations due Feb. 10

April 1, 2025, hundreds of researchers, clinicians, staff, students and community members will share research around the theme “Pioneering Pathways: Innovative Trial Design in Translational Science.”  The 20th Annual CCTS Conference also hosts Research Days for the colleges of Dentistry, Health Sciences, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, Institute for Biomedical Informatics, and the Department of Internal Medicine. 

NCATS Clinical & Translational Science Award Request for Pilot Funding Applications due 1/21/25

Eight institutions funded by the NCATS Clinical & Translational Science Award (CTSA) have joined together to form the Consortium of Rural States (CORES): The University of Utah Health, the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, Frontiers Clinical and Translational Science Institute, University of Kentucky, the Translational Research Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, the University of Iowa, Dartmouth College, and Penn State University.
