UK to Host Postdoctoral Research Symposium June 1
The University of Kentucky Society of Postdoctoral Scholars (SOPS) will host its fourth Postdoctoral Research Symposium Friday, June 1, in the Don & Cathy Jacobs Science Building.
Postdoctoral researchers and graduate students from all disciplines are invited to present posters and oral presentations, with a chance to win cash prizes. The deadline to submit an abstract for a poster presentation is Friday, May 18. Use the same link to register to attend the symposium.
The event is free to attend, with breakfast and lunch provided. Desirée Salazar, with the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) Division of Training, Workforce Development, and Diversity, will serve as the keynote speaker.
"Everyone is invited to the symposium, and it should be a great opportunity for graduate students and postdocs to practice their presentations, connect with researchers on campus, and maybe even earn some money," said Ellen Crocker, with SOPs planning committee.
Funding for the symposium is provided by the UK Office of the Vice President for Research, UK Student Government Association, UK Graduate School and the UK International Center.
