CHET Awards Recognize UK’s Health Equity Champions
Every year, the University of Kentucky’s Center for Health Equity Transformation (CHET) recognizes the efforts and voices of UK students, trainees and faculty members who are addressing health inequities.
CHET is now accepting applications for its CHET Undergraduate Essay Competition, CHET Equity Changemaker Award for Graduate Students, Professional Students and Postdoctoral Scholars and CHET Equity Changemaker Award for Faculty. The deadline to apply for each award is April 22.
The CHET Undergraduate Essay Competition invites undergraduate students to submit an essay that is focused on the intersection of health and racism and illustrates the importance of health equity.
The CHET Equity Changemaker Award for Graduate Students, Professional Students and Postdoctoral Scholars and the CHET Equity Changemaker Award for Faculty are awarded to individuals whose research seeks to understand health disparities and inequities and whose mentorship has contributed to the next generation of health equity scholars.
With support from the Office of the Vice President for Research, the College of Medicine, the Markey Cancer Center, the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, and the College of Arts and Sciences, CHET’s mission is “to synergize innovative, transdisciplinary and impactful research and training to improve the health of the most vulnerable residents of Kentucky and beyond."
