Additional Training Available

A wide variety of training opportunities are available through the Division of Laboratory Animal Resources including Aseptic Surgery guidelines, restraint and blood collection, oral gavage and injection techniques. Our staff has experience in the care and handling of most common laboratory animal species and is only too happy to assist you and your staff. Inquires for group or individual sessions can be scheduled by contacting our DLAR Training Group or veterinary staff. Technical assistance may be obtained from our research analyst, Glenn Florence.

In addition to our library, consisting of printed materials, CD's and DVD's, individual and group session training, technical services through our research analysts, and veterinary consultations, there are a number of self-paced training modules available on the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) Learning Library

The University of Kentucky Environmental Health and Safety provides numerous on-line training modules in Biosafety and other areas that may be of benefit to our researchers and their staff. Please take a few minutes to review the list to see if the modules are applicable to your work.
