Alan Fryar is a Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences and a faculty member in the Environmental and Sustainability Studies BA program at the University of Kentucky. He teaches courses in hydrogeology, hydrology, and environmental geology. His research interests include groundwater flow and water quality in Kentucky, other parts of the USA, and developing countries in Africa and Asia. His work focuses in part on how, when, and where groundwater is recharged. This information is important for understanding changes in the availability of water resources as the climate changes.
