Patent Palooza! is UK Innovate’s premier event recognizing and celebrating the achievements of the UK Innovation Community. Each year, we honor researchers, entrepreneurs and industry partners who are driving intellectual property creation, commercialization success and entrepreneurial growth at the University of Kentucky.
From patents and licensing deals to SBIR/STTR awards and entrepreneurship milestones, Patent Palooza! shines a spotlight on the groundbreaking work shaping Kentucky’s innovation ecosystem.
2024 Highlights
The most recent Patent Palooza! event, held on October 15, 2024, brought together around 100 attendees to celebrate the success of more than 120 UK innovators. Key achievements from Fiscal Year 2024 included:
- 43 patents issued
- 66 licenses and options executed
- 2 SBIR/STTR awards secured
- 29 teams completing Launch Blue’s UAccel program
Spotlight: "I Am a UK Innovator"
At the 2024 Patent Palooza! event, UK Innovate unveiled the "I Am a UK Innovator" video compilation, celebrating some of the groundbreaking research and innovation happening at the University of Kentucky. This special feature highlights the work of faculty and staff who are driving impact through intellectual property, commercialization and research translation.
